My teaching

My teaching reflects my research : it spans a wide array of subjects in the broad fields of  Information Science;  Critical Studies; Critical Race Theory. 
I have also been experimenting with innovative approaches such as embodied and arts informed pedagogy in order to increase student engagement and appropriation of course contents. My research

My research interests span a wide array of topics going from Human-Language Technology (HLT) for various applications - Natural Language Processing (NLP) to Terminology Engineering, Knowledge Acquisition from Texts, Text Mining, to more conceptual and analytical subjects such as Epistemology & History of Science, Science and Technology studies (STS), Uses of technology, Big Data and Open Data, the participatory paradigms of web 2.0.
My current research focus is on racism and racial inequalities  leveraging Critical race theory and Critical studies.

Data, the Data

We are undoubtedly in the era of data-driven scholarship. Since the much touted "data revolution", there has been a mounting call to open up public data to members of the public and to enterprises alike.
Many data-events are organised all over the world to raise awareness about the untapped potentials of mining the huge data generated by our daily interactions with technological devices in order to gain meaningful insights that will lead to new knowledge and promote data-driven discoveries thus leading to innovations.
In a project with my second year Master's students enrolled in the track "Data, Information and Digital Communication", they culled some of the events aimed at promoting data literacy and data-led activities by cities, regions and associations in France.  To learn more,
