Hackathon consists of an innovation marathon, bringing together participants from the business world, associations and civil society around decentralised State services in the regions and data made available by various public bodies with the aim of inventing new tools as a team to provide innovative services for users, citizens and consumers. Hackathon calls upon collective intelligence with the aim of designing, testing and generalizing solutions related to a specific need or problem. From health to ecology, through transport and culture, hackathons are organized in all areas of everyday life. The initiators of the various Hackathon in the context of open data, are generally public actors, ie municipalities, cities, departments and regions. They are often accompanied by the private, working in different areas.
Among the hackathon we have: Ocean hackathon is a creative 48h non-stop event during which digital data related to the sea will be made available for challenges. The participants will have to try, in a multidisciplinary team, to meet the objectives proposed by the challenge holders whose project has been validated beforehand. |
Ocean Hackathon :
- SMAUG Smart Map Augmented, or make the nautical chart accessible and attractive to a wide public: any age, any handicap and any purpose.
- Boombloom, tool for detecting explosions of algae content on Brittany's coasts.
- Pech’App worn by an Intechmer teacher-researcher: new mobile application for fishing on foot. It allows users to fish in complete safety (tide, weather, access, sanitary) and in complete legality (regulation sizes, species, zones).
- Marée Vous, an application for sustainable fishing on foot. The aim of this application is to enable fishermen on foot to obtain in a simplified and digital way all the information necessary for responsible fishing.
- Ocean Is Open : development of an autonomous environmental data collection system, in charge of measuring, recording and sharing data from the marine environment. The objective: to enable any legal or natural person to participate in the production of environmental data and to share them on a centralised platform.
It is an approach driven by Technopôle Brest-Iroise, supported by 5 renowned national ambassador structures:
- Ifremer
- Le Service hydrographique et océanographique de la Marine (SHOM)
- Le Cluster Maritime Français
- L’Agence Française pour la Biodiversité

Hack in Adour : Supported by the CEEI Crescendo and the Mêlée Adour, Hack in Adour is one of the concrete actions of French Tech Hautes-Pyrénées within the framework of the territory project defined by Ambition Pyrénées. |
Born from the will of public and private actors, the Hack In Adour initiative is an open innovation approach to accelerate the economic development of the Hautes-Pyrénées region and better serve a societal need for reflection and collaborative actions on the subject of energy transition and sustainable development. This challenge will mobilise collective intelligence and open data and shared data to imagine innovative solutions to better take the turn of the energy transition.
Thanks to a process of collective intelligence, in 3 stages and 2 meetings, this approach will make it possible to imagine and develop innovative solutions to meet the major challenges of the energy transition brought about by the region. It is a federating force for the region's players and a lever for socio-economic dynamism, innovation and the creation of start-ups.
