Data week

Dataweek is a week dedicated to Open Data and public innovation. Indeed, the aim of this event is to promote digital tools of general interest using public data made available by government services. The Dataweek aims to raise awareness and train agents on open data, to decompartmentalize the institutional and entrepreneurial worlds, and above all to lead to concrete achievements of startups and civil society actors. The precursors of the different Dataweek in the framework of open data are generally the local authorities, i.e. the municipalities, towns, departments and regions. They are often supported by the private sector in various fields.

​Dataweek Marseille

The Dataweek is an annual meeting organized by the Prefecture of the Provence-Alpes Côte d'Azur region and the Regional Centre for Geographic Information. This week devoted to Open Data and public innovation aims to raise awareness and train agents on data openness, to decompartmentalize the institutional and entrepreneurial worlds, and above all to lead to concrete achievements of startups and civil society actors. Indeed, the aim of this event will be to promote digital tools of general interest using public data made available by the State services.

The innovations

During this Data week, there was a hackathon where project leaders put their ideas into practice, accompanied by public officials who are experts in their fields. Among the winners of the 2019 edition, we have:

  • Open Air: Open Air is a portal where experts publish articles on the interests of individuals on the topic of Air Quality. These articles reference the databases concerned, and provide an immediate visualization of this database where it is useful.
  • HandiPaca: The HandiPaca project aims to improve accessibility and urban comfort for people with disabilities and reduced mobility. The idea is simple, it is the user of the application, based on his personal experience, who reports a lack of facilities or the presence of a parking space for people with disabilities.
  • Arc PACA: ARC is a platform that aims to facilitate the Display, Conversion and Referencing of public data sets.

European Open Data Week

The European Open Data Week is an annual event offering conferences, round tables and practical workshops on open data and related topics. The opportunity to meet the actors who are making open data today in France and in Europe.
​Open data France's member local authorities meet there for the association's annual general meeting. The Interconnected make it a stage of their Tour de France and the FING brings together the partners of its national program "Infolab".
